Lazaros trial
12 May 2009 The
Appeal Military Court of Athens (second degree court) sentenced on March
31st 2009 46-year-old conscientious objector Lazaros Petromelidis to a
18 months in prison, deeming him guilty on two charges of
insubordination. The court finally accepted to suspend the sentence
until the hearing in the supreme court (third degree court). In the
first degree court he had been sentenced to a 36-month imprisonment
sentence and a 7000 euros bail. After the third degree court and if
Lazaros is again deemed guilty, he can appeal to the European Court of
Human Rights. This was the 16th trial of Lazaros! |
